A third of the residents of Newark, NJ were born outside of the United States. For the millions of immigrants who call the tristate area home, the journey begins at Newark Liberty International Airport. To celebrate the opening of a new arrivals terminal, Newark Airport partnered with the Public Art Fund on commissioning permanent artworks that reflect the landscape and history of New Jersey, including a new mural by Newark-based Indigenous Ecuadorian artist Layqa Nuna Yawar.
